Medium Delirium

With these lines I tether myself to the fact of my existence.

It is a sad reality of Lunar New Year that as one gets older, the likelihood of receiving red packets decreases, a trend that is inversely proportional to the likelihood of catching a bug from the extensive mingling that comes with the season. Yesterday (Day 4 of LNY) started off alright, but by the afternoon I’d taken ill with a mysterious malady that left me shivering under the covers in bed. Drifted in and out of a series of naps and managed to feel better by bedtime.

J and I binge watched ‘The Art of Sarah’ (a new K-Drama series on Netflix) over the past 2 days. I almost never watch K-Dramas because the degree to which they are removed from reality – the plots, especially the romances, as well as the flawless faces and bodies and outfits – irks me. The constant suspension of disbelief that is required to be remotely entertained by these storylines requires too much mental stamina. That said, ‘The Art of Sarah’ was very good and the plot holes were mostly negligible. The intertwining recounts and piecemeal chronologies made it attractively complex, though it did leave me trawling online for a timeline of events. Thank you, Good People of Reddit, out there doing the Lord’s work.

Happy weekend!
